MUSKOKA GOLF RESORTS
In 2011, Golfweek ranked Rocky Crest Golf Club third in its listing of the best Canadian golf courses of the modern era. The 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Thomas McBroom, has earned rave reviews for its distinctive granite outcroppings, seamless routing and log-cabin style clubhouse.
As a resort guest you can access any one of three ClubLink private Muskoka golf courses; each of the Rocky Crest Golf Club, The Lake Joseph Club and the Mark O'Meara Course at Grandview offer resort guest access for Sherwood Inn guests.
When The Lake Joseph Club opened in 1997, it caused jaws to drop around the golf world. Architect Thomas McBroom utilized the granite crags, towering trees and heaving topography of the incomparable Muskoka regions with such success that the course named the best new course in country by Golf Digest.
Five tee decks stretch from 6,995 yards down to 5,081. A nine-hole Academy Course complements its big brother on the shore of picturesque Lake Joseph. Visit Website
Feature Hole #8
This par 3, measuring from 158 to 120 yards features a significantly elevated teeing area to a green set at the bottom of a valley. The shot requires accuracy to a long narrow green and the correct club to compensate for the change in elevation and swirling winds. This hole captures the topography of the property, as well as the rocky face to reflect upon where you are in Muskoka.
In 2013, Golfweek ranked Ontario Golf Resort, Rocky Crest Golf Club, sixth in its listing of the best Canadian courses of the modern era (post 1960). Since it opened in 2000, this spectacular Thomas McBroom design has accumulated many such accolades. Amidst the beauty of the surrounding giant forests of pine, white birch and hemlock, the rolling fairways will captivate you as the granite outcroppings challenge your skills. This premier Ontario golf course is presided over by an imposing pine-log lodge-style clubhouse and incorporates all the spine-tingling qualities of the Muskoka golf experience.

Feature Hole #8
Since it opened in 2000, this spectacular Thomas McBroom design has accumulated many such accolades, and justifiably so. Amidst the beauty of the surrounding giant forests of pine, white birch and hemlock, the rolling fairways will captivate you as the granite outcroppings challenge your skills. This course is adjacent to the Rocky Crest Resort, a favourite among Ontario Golf Resorts in the Muskokas, and Lakeside at Rocky Crest, a fractional ownership vacation community. This premier Ontario golf course is presided over by an imposing pine-log lodge-style clubhouse and incorporates all the spine-tingling qualities of the Muskoka golf experience. With tees stretching from 6,936 yards down to 5,131, Rocky Crest is a delight for golfers of all abilities.
Two-time major champion Mark O'Meara knows a thing or two about golf courses and that insight is obvious to anyone fortunate enough to play the Mark O'Meara Course at Grandview.
Winding its way through the granite, forest and wetlands of the incomparable Muskoka region, and with tees ranging from 7,065 yards to 4,750, Grandview is a delight to play. The course, site of the 2002 Telus Skins Game won by Sergio Garcia over Vijay Singh, John Daly and Mike Weir, and the 2002 Canadian Tour Ontario Open, is accentuated by a stunning clubhouse, and a nine-hole Academy Course.
Feature Hole #17
The Mark O'Meara Course is a classic risk/reward course and this hole, simply named "Short" is a perfect example. From the blue tees it plays 280 yards as a par 4. The safe play is a 180 yard tee shot over the fairway bunker leaving a short approach to a well guarded green. The more exciting shot is to attempt to reach the green or at least get it close with hazard all of the way of the left, a large rock outcropping short and right of the green and only a small opening in front of the green. Roll the dice and make your choice!
